A-Level students from a number of schools in the Kent region will be on campus next week to attend our Philosophy Sixth-Form Conference, on Wednesday 14 October 2015.<\/p>\n
Staff from the Department of Philosophy<\/a>\u00a0will be delivering sessions to give a taster for studying these subjects\u00a0at a university level. A mixture of seminars and plenary sessions are offered throughout the day, including such tempting titles as ‘Why Has Philosophy Been So Interested in Mathematics?’, ‘Voluntary Euthanasia’, ‘Aristotle, Friendship and Facebook’, ‘Fate and the Future’, and ‘The Evil of Death’. The day will run from 10.00am until the afternoon, with lunch and a campus tour provided.<\/p>\n Participating members of the Department include Dr Todd Mei<\/a>, Dr Graeme Forbes<\/a>, Dr Edward Kanterian<\/a>, as well as\u00a0doctoral student Alex Trofimov.
