{"id":4800,"date":"2015-08-28T10:42:08","date_gmt":"2015-08-28T09:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=4800"},"modified":"2015-08-28T23:13:53","modified_gmt":"2015-08-28T22:13:53","slug":"kent-hosts-basr-annual-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2015\/08\/28\/kent-hosts-basr-annual-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent to host BASR annual conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/thrs\/index.html\">Department of Religious Studies<\/a> is pleased to be hosting the <a href=\"http:\/\/basr.ac.uk\/\">British Association for the Study of Religions<\/a>\u00a0(BASR) annual conference from the 7-9 September at the University of Kent&#8217;s Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will explore the theme of &#8216;Religion in the Local and Global&#8217; across a range of disciplinary perspectives, including religion, politics, anthropology, sociology, psychology and philosophy. The aim is to bring together a range of disciplinary perspectives on the study of religion to explore the local\/global challenge to conventional assumptions about religion, both in empirical and theoretical perspectives.
