{"id":4723,"date":"2015-08-12T17:23:27","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T16:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=4723"},"modified":"2015-08-12T18:40:11","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T17:40:11","slug":"secl-success-in-the-national-student-survey-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2015\/08\/12\/secl-success-in-the-national-student-survey-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"SECL success in the National Student Survey 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestudentsurvey.com\/\">National Student Survey 2015<\/a>\u00a0(NSS) have now been released, revealing good news for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/index.html\">School of European Culture and Languages<\/a>\u00a0(SECL).<\/p>\n<p>The NSS is an independent UK-wide survey of all 155 higher education institutions, providing an opportunity for final-year students to independently rate their experience at university.<\/p>\n<p>The survey ran from January until April this year, targeting students towards the end of their degree, and\u00a0the results published today, 12 August 2015.<\/p>\n<p>SECL saw several successes in the survey. Both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/undergraduate\/index.html\">Archaeology and Classics<\/a> were ranked 1<sup>st<\/sup> in the UK for overall satisfaction; with Archaeology scoring 99% for teaching satisfaction, and Classics scoring 97%.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, all SECL\u2019s subject areas scored extremely high for its teaching. The figures for the other subjects for teaching satisfaction were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/index.html\">Comparative Literature<\/a> scored 96%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/french\/french.html\">French<\/a> scored 91%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/hispanic-studies\/hispanic-studies.html\">Iberian Studies (Hispanic Studies)<\/a> scored 92%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/italian\/italian.html\">Italian<\/a> scored 93%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">Linguistics<\/a> scored 89%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/index.html\">Philosophy<\/a> scored 94%<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/thrs\/index.html\">Religious Studies<\/a> scored 91%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Congratulations to our academic and support staff for providing excellent teaching to achieve this result, and we would like to thank all of our students who participated in the survey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the\u00a0National Student Survey 2015\u00a0(NSS) have now been released, revealing good news for the School of European Culture and Languages\u00a0(SECL).
