{"id":4681,"date":"2015-08-04T09:17:15","date_gmt":"2015-08-04T08:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=4681"},"modified":"2015-08-04T09:17:15","modified_gmt":"2015-08-04T08:17:15","slug":"graduate-passes-portuguese-proficiency-exam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2015\/08\/04\/graduate-passes-portuguese-proficiency-exam\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate passes Portuguese proficiency exam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Natalie Cafasso Forman, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/modern-languages\/undergraduate\/hispanic-studies\/hispanic-studies.html\">Hispanic Studies BA (Hons)<\/a> graduate, has just passed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brazil.org.uk\/academic\/celpe.html\">Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners <\/a>(CELPE- Br\u00e1s) after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modulecatalogue\/modules\/LA300\">learning Portuguese<\/a> as part of her degree.<\/p>\n<p>The CELPE- Br\u00e1s, set up by Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Education, is the only one of its kind recognised by the Brazilian Government and is required by foreign students who wish to study in Brazil and may be required by foreign professionals who wish to work or register with professional bodies in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Natalie, the first student from Kent to pass the exam, said of her achievement: \u00a0\u2018Having studied Portuguese \u00a0as a wild module along with my degree\u00a0I felt it\u00a0was really worth taking the Celpe Br\u00e1s exam, as it&#8217;s a nationally recognised certificate often required by Brazilian employers and can help me get a job in Brazil, which would be amazing.\u00a0I&#8217;d love to live and work in Brazil in the future.
