This is the culmination of three or four years of hard work, or longer for part-time students.<\/p>\n<p>Several students in the department also\u00a0won awards at\u00a0a\u00a0SECL prize giving. The winners were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shona Wood for Best Degree<\/li>\n<li>Hiroyuki Tanaka won the Dissertation Prize<\/li>\n<li>Louise McKenner won for Most Significant Contribution to English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The prizes\u00a0were\u00a0awarded at\u00a0a\u00a0graduation\u00a0party held on campus, prior to the graduation ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to our final-year students\u00a0from the Department of English Language and Linguistics who graduated today with their well-earned degrees.
