{"id":4412,"date":"2015-06-25T11:20:32","date_gmt":"2015-06-25T10:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=4412"},"modified":"2017-06-30T18:12:43","modified_gmt":"2017-06-30T17:12:43","slug":"congratulations-to-ray-laurence-and-axel-stahler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2015\/06\/25\/congratulations-to-ray-laurence-and-axel-stahler\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to Ray Laurence and Axel St\u00e4hler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on from the SECL\u2019s success in this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/news\/index.html?view=3853\">University Research Prizes<\/a>, the School is pleased to announce that our staff have done extremely well in the University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/teaching\/reward\/index.html\">Teaching Prizes<\/a> competition.<\/p>\n<p>The first prize was awarded to Professor Ray Laurence from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/index.html\">Department of Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies<\/a>, for his innovative curriculum development at the University\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/rome\/\">Rome centre<\/a>, involving the development of local and international partnerships, use of new media, and site-specific forms of assessment.<\/p>\n<p>The second prize was shared between two prize winners, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/staff\/staehler.html\">Dr Axel St\u00e4hler<\/a>, from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/index.html\">Department of Comparative Literature<\/a>,\u00a0in recognition of his innovations in assessment, particularly in relation to the production of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/news\/index.html?view=3668\">Holocaust Memorial Week<\/a>.
