Staff from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/index.html\">Department of Philosophy<\/a>\u00a0will be delivering sessions to give a taster for studying these subjects\u00a0at a university level.<\/p>\n<p>A mixture of seminars and plenary sessions are offered throughout the day, including such tempting titles as \u2018Do We Want a Way Out of Plato\u2019s Cave?\u2019, \u2018Should the Law Allow Voluntary Euthanasia?\u2019, \u2018Sartre and Freedom\u2019, \u2018Fate and the Future\u2019, and \u2018Should Healthy People Be Offered Medical Enhancements?\u2019 The day will run from 10.00am until the afternoon, with lunch and a campus tour provided.<\/p>\n<p>Participating members of the Department include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/staff\/butterworth.html\">Dr Kathy Butterworth<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/staff\/forbes.html\">Dr Graeme Forbes<\/a>, Dr Kelli Rudoph, as well as\u00a0doctoral students Ruth Hibbert and Alex Trofimov. The conference will be introduced by the Head of Department, Dr Julia Tanney.<\/p>\n<p>The programme of events is listed below.
