{"id":3539,"date":"2014-12-15T12:18:57","date_gmt":"2014-12-15T12:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=3539"},"modified":"2014-12-17T14:09:27","modified_gmt":"2014-12-17T14:09:27","slug":"world-heritage-sites-in-a-national-context","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2014\/12\/15\/world-heritage-sites-in-a-national-context\/","title":{"rendered":"World Heritage Sites in a national context"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/research\/projects\/heritage\/\">The Research Network on the protection of Cultural World Heritage Sites <\/a>funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ahrc.ac.uk\/Pages\/Home.aspx\">AHRC<\/a>, in association with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/researchcentres\/centre-for-heritage\/\">Centre for Heritage<\/a>, is organising an international conference on World Heritage Sites in a national context, to be held at the University of Kent on 15<sup>th <\/sup>&#8211; 16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0January 2015.<\/p>\n<p>This conference entitled &#8216;The implementation of the 1972 UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage&#8217;, evaluates the efficiency of national laws, policy mechanisms and management plans in the protection of World Heritage Sites with a particular focus on cultural sites.
