This is the culmination of three or four years of hard work, or longer for part-time students.<\/p>\n<p>Several students in the School\u00a0have also\u00a0won additional awards. The Faculty has awarded\u00a0 the\u00a0Humanities Rotary Prize (for excellence in their subject) to two SECL students: \u00a0Emily Cook (from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">English Language &amp; Linguistics<\/a>) and Joseph Bowen (from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/index.html\">Philosophy<\/a>). And the\u00a0following prizes have been awarded by the School:\u00a0Davide Alfredo Mule Marchese &#8211; the SECL Joint Honours Prize for the best first-class mark from a joint honours student, and Joel Tennant\u00a0&#8211; the SECL Employability Prize, for which he organised and ran the English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics Society Undergraduate Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Other departmental prizes include:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/classics\/index.html\">Classical &amp;\u00a0Archaeological Studies<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tom Pinner and Jessica Payne share the Best Dissertation prize<\/li>\n<li>Adriana Palladino, The KH Lee Ancient Language Prize for best mark in advanced Latin<\/li>\n<li>Tom Pinner, the Tom Blagg Prize for greatest achievement<\/li>\n<li>Andrew Lees for Greatest Achievement in stage 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/complit\/index.html\">Comparative Literature<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Holly Elizabeth Allen for Best Overall Achievement (stage 2)<\/li>\n<li>George McClelland for Best Overall Achievement (stage 3)<\/li>\n<li>Atiyah Ali, the Roger and Agnes Cardinal Prize, for the best final-year dissertation<\/li>\n<li>Sam Cassie, Grace Evans, Emily Ives-Keeler, George McClelland, Thomas Megaw and Kuba Shand-Baptiste shared the Runner Up Dissertation Prize<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">English Language &amp;\u00a0Linguistics<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shona Wood for Outstanding Achievement in Stage 2<\/li>\n<li>Craig Hamilton for Outstanding Achievement in Stage 3<\/li>\n<li>Lydia Giles and Victoria Picking share the Dissertation Prize<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/french\/index.html\">French<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edward Payne for Best Overall Performance in French<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth Hutchings wins Best Final Year Dissertation and Best Performance in Joint Honours<\/li>\n<li>Jessela Adjei for Achievement in <em>Ab Initio<\/em> French<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/german\/index.html\">German<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Francesca Runger-Field for Best Overall Achievement<\/li>\n<li>Claire Beaumont for the Greatest Contribution to German at Kent<\/li>\n<li>Jasmine Joyce for Academic Progression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/hispanicstudies\/index.html\">Hispanic Studies<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dellanie Nash wins the overall prize for Hispanic Studies<\/li>\n<li>Nichaolas Purdue for Academic Progression<\/li>\n<li>Hannah Ilett wins the Peninsular Prize<\/li>\n<li>Charles Burgess-Reid wins the\u00a0Latin American\u00a0Prize<\/li>\n<li>Kinga Boer the Catalan Prize<\/li>\n<li>Rob Webber for the Best Dissertation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/italian\/index.html\">Italian<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diana Rosemary Vasquez Espinosa for Academic Progression<\/li>\n<li>Davide Alfredo Mule Marchese and Daniela Lydia Brandano for Best Achievement<\/li>\n<li>Davide Alfredo Mule Marchese also wins the prize for Best Performance in Italian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/philosophy\/index.html\">Philosophy<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Joseph Bowen winner of the Keith Jones Prize for Best Performance in Stage 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/thrs\/index.html\">Religious Studies<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chris Eliadis wins the Religious Studies\u00a0Prize for excellence in performance, commitment and progression.<\/li>\n<li>Joshua Gardner wins the Religious Studies Participation Prize.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Prizes will be awarded at the Graduation Party on campus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to our final-year students\u00a0from the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) who are graduating today with their well-earned degrees.
