{"id":2718,"date":"2014-05-30T08:52:17","date_gmt":"2014-05-30T08:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=2718"},"modified":"2015-09-01T16:55:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-01T15:55:00","slug":"literary-award-for-raffaello-palumbo-mosca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2014\/05\/30\/literary-award-for-raffaello-palumbo-mosca\/","title":{"rendered":"Literary award for Raffaello Palumbo Mosca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Raffaello Palumbo Mosca, Research Fellow in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/italian\/index.html\">Department of Italian<\/a>, has just won the prestigious International Tarquinia-Cardarelli Prize for his recent book entitled <i>L&#8217;invenzione del vero<\/i> [<i>The Invention of Truth<\/i>] (Gaffi Editore, 2014).<\/p>\n<p>The Tarquinia-Cardarelli is a leading Italian literary award, founded in 1962 and named after the southern Italian city Tarquinia and author Vincenzo Cardarelli. Prizes are awarded in separate categories each year: Raffaello\u2019s book won the \u2018Opera prima di critica letteraria\u2019 category, judged by Massimo Onofri, Filippo La Porta and Raffaele Manica.<\/p>\n<p><i>L&#8217;invenzione del vero<\/i> contributes to a long-running literary debate that has dominated the cultural pages of Italian press for some years: it is true that the novel has died?\u00a0 In celebrating the end of the genre, have we not lost our understanding of the object in question?<\/p>\n<p>The prize ceremony will be held in Tarquinia on Sunday 1 June.
