{"id":2590,"date":"2014-05-01T12:09:39","date_gmt":"2014-05-01T12:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=2590"},"modified":"2014-05-02T08:29:43","modified_gmt":"2014-05-02T08:29:43","slug":"peter-reid-in-paris-and-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2014\/05\/01\/peter-reid-in-paris-and-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Read in Paris and Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/french\/staff\/read.html\">Professor Peter Read<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/french\/index.html\">Department of French<\/a> has been appointed to the advisory committee of a forthcoming exhibition entitled &#8216;Guillaume Apollinaire et la naissance de l\u2019art moderne&#8217;, which will take place\u00a0at the Orangerie\u00a0in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.louvre.fr\/en\/departments\/tuileries-and-carrousel-gardens\/overview#tabs\">Tuileries Gardens<\/a> in Paris in the spring of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Peter has also been awarded a \u00a0one-month Research Fellowship by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.utexas.edu\/\">Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center<\/a> at the University of Texas, to study their collection of manuscripts by Apollinaire and Jean Cocteau, in the 2014\/15 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The Harry Ransom Center (HRC) is both a museum and research library, its collections include 42 million manuscripts and nearly one million rare books.
