{"id":2360,"date":"2014-03-20T10:13:31","date_gmt":"2014-03-20T10:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=2360"},"modified":"2014-03-20T12:33:07","modified_gmt":"2014-03-20T12:33:07","slug":"amalia-arvanti-to-give-talk-on-speech-rhythm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2014\/03\/20\/amalia-arvanti-to-give-talk-on-speech-rhythm\/","title":{"rendered":"Amalia Arvaniti to give talk on speech rhythm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lpl-aix.fr\/\">Laboratoire Parole &amp; Language<\/a> (LPL) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.univ-amu.fr\/\">University of Aix-en-Provence<\/a> in France have invited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/staff\/arvaniti.html\">Professor Amalia Arvaniti<\/a>,\u00a0Head of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">Department of English Language &amp; Linguistics<\/a>, to give a talk as part of a one-day seminar on &#8216;Rhythm and its Functions in Speech Perception and Production&#8217; tomorrow on Friday 21 March.<\/p>\n<p>Entitled &#8216;Rhythm and Timing Crosslinguistically&#8217;, Amalia&#8217;s talk will will present an overview of her recent research on the production and perception of speech rhythm across a range of languages that include English, German, Greek, Italian, Korean and Spanish.
