This scholarship will cover full home\/EU fees. The scholarship will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory academic performances.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Kent is committed to the provision and support of an inclusive and balanced environment that respects and celebrates diversity. As part of this commitment, applicants from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>We would particularly welcome applications in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management of classical or archaeological sites<\/li>\n<li>Heritage and human rights<\/li>\n<li>Heritage and development<\/li>\n<li>Heritage and hidden histories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Criteria<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Centre for Heritage at Kent Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding applicant, able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, excellent communication skills, and the potential to make a strong contribution to their chosen field of research. Candidates must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a Master\u2019s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Hold an offer of a place on a full-time doctoral research degree in the School of European Culture and Languages for the academic year commencing September 2014<\/li>\n<li>Have a high-quality research proposal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How to apply<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must make a formal application to study on an eligible doctoral programme and have received an offer of a place to commence their studies in September 2014<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must then send a supporting statement, not exceeding 1,000 words, outlining why they feel they are suitable to be considered for this scholarship<\/li>\n<li>The supporting statement should be sent to the SECL Postgraduate Coordinator, Jacqui Martlew: Email: <a href=\"mailto:seclpgadmin@kent.ac.uk\">seclpgadmin@kent.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The deadline for applications: 5.00pm, 15 April 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Heritage at Kent (Canterbury campus) will offer one scholarship to support one UK\/EU doctoral research student in the field of heritage.
