{"id":2209,"date":"2014-02-21T10:47:50","date_gmt":"2014-02-21T10:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/?p=2209"},"modified":"2014-02-21T10:54:14","modified_gmt":"2014-02-21T10:54:14","slug":"vikki-janke-contributes-to-linguistics-olympiad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/secl-news-events\/2014\/02\/21\/vikki-janke-contributes-to-linguistics-olympiad\/","title":{"rendered":"Vikki Janke contributes to Linguistics Olympiad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/staff\/janke.html\">Dr Vikki Janke<\/a>, from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/secl\/ell\/index.html\">Department of English Language &amp; Linguistics<\/a>, has been involved with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioling.org\/2013\/\">11th International Linguistics Olympiad<\/a> (IOL), held this year in Manchester, the first time the Olympiad has been held in the UK since its inauguration in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>The IOL is one of 12 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.interso.net\">International Science Olympiads<\/a>. Each year, teams of young linguists from around the world gather and test their minds against the world&#8217;s toughest puzzles in language and linguistics.
