A. Bayona and produced by Guillermo del Toro, the director of the acclaimed <em>Pan\u2019s Labyrinth <\/em>(2006).<\/p>\n<p>The film tells of a mother, Laura, who returns to the orphanage where she grew up accompanied by her husband Carlos and their 7-year-old son Sim\u00f3n. She dreams of restoring and reopening the long-abandoned mansion as a home for disabled children, but the place awakens Sim\u00f3n\u2019s imagination, and he soon begins playing not-so-innocent games.<\/p>\n<p>Nuria will be discussing the film with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/staff-profiles\/profiles\/film\/t_jeffers-mcdonald.html\">Dr Tamar Jeffers McDonald<\/a>, Reader in Film Studies, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/staff-profiles\/profiles\/film\/sayad.html\">Dr Cecilia Sayad<\/a>, Lecturer in Film Studies.<\/p>\n<p>The film and discussion will be held on 4 March, 9.30pm.
