What are his stated reasons? What are the unstated reasons he might have done this?<\/li>\n<li>What are the different ways we can view Johnson\u2019s recitation of Homer?<\/li>\n<li>What does his performance imply about identity \u2013 His own? His audiences? Homer\u2019s?<\/li>\n<li>What does his performance say about who is \u201cin\u201d and who is \u201cout\u201d?<\/li>\n<li>Is a performance like this good or bad for Classics?<\/li>\n<li>Who is \u201cin\u201d and who is \u201cout\u201d when we speak about our subject?<\/li>\n<li>As a community that embraces diverse viewpoints, how do our own contributions, our own \u2018performances\u2019 \u2013 in class, online, over coffee \u2013 form a picture of who we are?<\/li>\n<li>How does your own experience or knowledge relate to the ideas presented here?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You might have your own questions about this article too: what it means, or what point it\u2019s trying to make. The Welcome Week discussion group is a place for you to come with all of your questions, it\u2019s not about having answers.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the starting point for lots of different discussions, and you might even find that it changes the way you think about this, your chosen field.
