Monday saw the publication of The Guardian University Guide 2017, which again confirmed Kent as one of the UK’s leading universities, ranking 23rd out of 119 participating higher education institutions.
Several subjects taught within SECL were ranked within the top 20, these are:
- Classics and Ancient History – 7th
- Philosophy – 14th
- Religious Studies – 14th
The Guardian‘s league table ranks higher education institutions in Britain using a complex algorithm that takes in data from a variety of sources, including the National Student Survey, and a set of metrics including staff/student ratios, expenditure, entry scores and career prospects, among others.
