Dr Lubomira Radoilska, Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy has been awarded a Mind Association Research Fellowship for the project ‘Knowledge in Action’, which considers whether the knowledge and control conditions on responsibility for action can be reconciled with an acknowledgement of the role of habits and dispositions in agency.
The Mind Association supports and promotes research excellence in philosophy. Mind Research Fellowships are intended for academics in the UK or Republic of Ireland who are engaged in research in any area of philosophy. Two fellowships have been awarded for the forthcoming academic year. Lubomira was successfully awarded her fellowship alongside Gerald Lang of the University of Leeds. According to the association’s executives, ‘The field was extremely strong and speaks very well for the health of philosophy in the UK.’
Lubomira’s fellowship will fund a six-month research leave to support work toward the completion of a monograph on the nature and scope of responsible agency.
