The Faculty of Humanities is hosting a two week series of careers events from 7-18 March 2016 entitled ‘Humanities for Hire’. The events are designed to link humanities students with a variety of opportunities and widen their employability. Highlights include:
- Humanities for Hire Employability Fair. Come along and investigate the options available to Humanities graduates. Stands will include the Careers and Employability Service, Kent Union volunteering, Kent Extra and training providers in teaching and journalism
- Working in Publishing. Interested in working in publishing? A panel of experts from the world of publishing, including Kent alumni and employers, will talk about their experiences, how they got into publishing, what their job entails and the skills required.
- Graduate opportunities within EU Institutions. Find out about the application procedures, the application dates and the various graduate roles available in EU Institutions.
- Writing for a Living. Come and hear from our expert panel of professional authors, journalists and editors.
- Finding Work Experience and Internships. Having relevant work experience alongside your degree is increasingly important. This talk will cover how to find opportunities, make successful applications and how to sell the experience you have gained to potential employers
