Dr Steve Willis and a team of staff and students from the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies have begun an excavation of a roman rural settlement on the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The project began at the beginning of the month and runs throughout September. It follows on from digs undertaken in previous years, and conducted in collaboration with the North East Lincolnshire Archaeological and History Society.
They have had some great finds including a Roman coin of ‘The House of Constantine,’ depicting Crispus (AD 322) minted in Trier.
The fieldwork finished at the end of September and you can find out about all their finds and what they have learnt on the blog written by the students at: http://blogs.kent.ac.uk/digthewolds/
