Dr Sophia Labadi from the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies will be delivering one of the keynote speeches at an international conference in Oslo, ‘Between Dream and Reality: Debating the impact of World Heritage Listing’, on 15 November.
Her speech will be ‘Identifying the Socio-economic Impacts of World Heritage: An Impossible Mission?’, the speech will chart the different issues with identifying the social and economic impacts of world heritage. It will also present recent initiatives developed at UNESCO and in academia to solve these issues and provide a solid framework for the identification of the socio-economic impacts of World Heritage.
Sophia Labadi is the director of the Centre for Heritage.
