Congratulations to Taylor Weaver

Post viva, with Connal Parsley and James Crossley

The Department of Religious Studies is delighted to announce that Taylor Weaver has completed his PhD in Theology and Religious Studies under the supervision of Dr Ward Blanton and Professor Richard King.

Taylor’s thesis, entitled ‘Paul, Community, Economy: Thinking Communitas Through the Biblical Paul’, looks at the importance of St Paul in a historical and cultural context.

St Paul has been an important figure in political philosophical thought in recent decades, which has contributed to lively discussions within biblical studies circles. Many reject any importance for political readings of Paul, and likewise many philosophers find Paul to be a strange subject to take seriously. This project takes seriously Paul’s importance for a specific political philosophical issue surrounding the concept of community.

Our congratulations to Taylor Weaver.
