Sixteen students, who have been learning Mandarin through the university’s Year in Mandarin programme and Mandarin credit bearing modules, are to visit Xi’an, China to continue their study of the language and experience authentic Chinese culture first hand.
The trip will take place in collaboration with our partner institution, Kedagaoxin University, who have generously offered scholarships to all sixteen of our students to cover the cost of tuition, food, and accommodation for the full month of the visit.
Our students are eager to learn about the vibrant ancient city and the opportunity to partner with students from the host university will enable them to be fully immersed in the language and culture.
Mandarin Tutor/Convenor, Ru Su, said: ‘Having the chance to travel to Xi’an in person to discover the rich and unique culture will enhance our students experience and improve their intercultural skills on top of their language abilities.’
We wish all our students well ahead of their travels.
