Dr Nicole Graham shares some useful resources and sessions to help you get started at Kent.
Whether you are joining Kent for the first time or are a returning student, you’ll likely be spending a lot of time in the Templeman Library this coming year! However, knowing where to start may feel a little daunting. To help you get started, here’s some useful resources / sessions:
- Visit the Templeman Library webpage for new students. Here you’ll find important information for both before and after your arrival at Kent.
- Start looking at your reading lists (which will outline the core texts for the module and tell you what you need to read and when) and resources on the related Moodle module site, so that you can familiarise yourself with essential resources. The Religious Studies Library Resource Guide is a great place to find out what are the best resources to use for the discipline.
- Complete the Library Research Skills Moodle module (DP3000) which covers key library research skills to support your studies and employability. You can work your way through the whole module or select sections depending on the skills you need to develop.
- If you want to speak to someone about a library or IT issue then use the online chat function on the library website for a quick resolution.
- Each subject has a dedicated Liaison Librarian who can help provide library support, for Religious Studies you can speak with Emma Mires-Richards (l.mires-richards@kent.ac.uk).
