Head of Department, Dr Chris Deacy, interviews David Cheetham, Professor of Philosophical Theology at the University of Birmingham in his latest Nostalgia Interviews podcast epsiode.
Dr Deacy shares, “David and I were both contemporaries at Lampeter and we learn about his memories of his time there in what he refers to as a self-contained ecosystem in which you didn’t have to worry about ‘tomorrow’. We learn about the legendary Edmund Estafan and the Mydroilyn Sound Machine, how he wanted to be a musician from a young age, meeting Revd. Richard Coles, doing his PhD on John Hick, and there’s a hilarious story about how he had to rush from a band rehearsal to see Hick give a public lecture. We also talk about the huge influence Paul Badham has played in both of our lives and whether our lecturers ever knew what we got up to outside of our university work.”
