The French flag

Dr Sara-Louise Cooper, Lecturer in French in the School of European Culture & Languages’ Department of Modern Languages is running a French translation competition for A level students.

Entrants will translate a short passage by contemporary author Patrick Chamoiseau to be in with a chance of winning a prize. There will be a cash prize of £50 for the winners and £10 for two runners-up, and a book will be presented to their school libraries. After the competition, local entrants will be invited to a translation workshop at the University of Kent to discuss the passage and learn more about the author.
