Congratulations to Cory Adams

We are delighted to announce that one of our final year students from the Department of Modern Languages, has won a University Music Prize.

Cory Adams, a final-year student on the BA in Hispanic Studies, is a joint recipient of this year’s Canterbury Festival Music Prize, which is awarded annually to a final-year student who has made an outstanding contribution to music. Cory has been principal timpanist and played percussion in the symphony orchestra, and this year was one of the four timpanists in a performance of Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, which took place in Canterbury Cathedral in March. He also plays kit and percussion in Concert Band and Big Band, and has been a University Music Performance Scholar during his time.

The prize will be awarded at a special event, along with other music prizes, on Tuesday 7 June as part of a music scholars’ recital taking place at 1.10pm in the Colyer-Fergusson Hall. For details, please see the page here: www.kent.ac.uk/music/whatson.html?tab=june
