Professor Ray Laurence, from the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies, is to give a public lecture at Current Archaeology Live 2016 on Friday 26 February at the University of London’s Senate House.
Current Archaeology Live is the annual conference of Current Archaeology, the UK’s leading archaeology magazine. Current Archaeology was established in print in 1967 and on the web since 1996 and aims to bridge the gap between the amateur and the professional in archaeology.
Ray’s lecture entitled ‘Roman Roads: Movement, Migration and Mobility’ is based on a talk he gave for the University of Kent’s Think Kent series and examines how the Roman Empire enabled the mobility of both the forces of the state and its subjects.
