Professor Karla Pollmann, Head of the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies (CLAS), will take students of the Department on an internationalisation event to Munich, from 13-16 December 2015.
The event is generously sponsored by the Faculty of Humanities and is meant as a training and networking opportunity for a diverse body of CLAS Undergraduate and Postgraduate students studying early Christianity. It will offer them additional visual and documentary material as well as access to Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich(LMU), a world class centre in this area, with an unrivalled interdisciplinary environment.
The students will have guided tours though the Glyptothek museum and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, and attend a lecture by Professor Pollmann on Metaphor, Allegory, and the Limits of Education in later Antiquity (on Tuesday 15 December at 6.15pm at LMU, Hauptgebäude, Geschwister Scholl-Platz 1, room A 016). There will also be an opportunity for networking with PhD students and postdocs from LMU, affiliated to the Classics Institute and the Research Centre Distant Worlds.
