As published in The Guardian University Guide 2016 on Monday, the University of Kent is now ranked 16th out of 119 UK universities, its highest league table position to date with a rise of four places.
The subjects taught by the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) rank within the top 20 across UK universities, breaking down as follows:
- Classics and Ancient History – 14th
- Modern Languages and Linguistics – 15th
- Philosophy – 17th
- Religious Studies – 8th
The Guardian‘s league table ranks higher education institutions in Britain using a complex algorithm that takes in data from a variety of sources, including the National Student Survey, and a set of metrics including staff/student ratios, expenditure, entry scores and career prospects, among others.
