On Saturday 8 November, the Department of French is running an open day for anyone interested in studying French at Kent. Organised by Dr Ana de Medeiros, the day will include a series of academic-led seminars on topics such as French linguistics, French detective fiction and French fiction in a historical context, concluding with a film screening. Those attending the day will be able to talk with both academics and current students about the programmes.
The idea is to give you a real taste of what studying French at a university is like. The event is free and open to everyone, and should be of particular interest to local schools, recent Open Day visitors, and those who have already applied to Kent to study French.
The programme of events begins at 10.00am and runs until 4.15pm, with free lunch and refreshments provided for those attending. Participating speakers also include Dr Thomas Baldwin, Dr Larry Duffy, Dr James Fowler, Dr David Hornsby, Mathilde Poizat-Amar and Dr Annie Tregouet.
