English Language and Linguistics students’ mini conference

Undergraduate students from the Department of English Language and Linguistics are organising a mini conference to showcase their original linguistic research from a variety of fields.

The conference will take place on Saturday 7 June from 11am to 3pm in Keynes Lecture Theatre 1.

To close the conference Professor Dan McIntyre and Dr Jane Lugea from the University of Huddersfield will present their paper entitled ‘Language in Light: the Stylistics of Subtitling’.

After the conference and in the same venue at 4pm, the English Language and Linguistics Society and the Literature Society will host Gavin Esler, journalist and former BBC Newsnight presenter, who will be presenting the talk ‘The Power of Stories’.
