Languages host event to discover ‘wild’ modules

The flags of Denmark, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain

On Tuesday 25 March 2014 there will be a special fair to highlight the language opportunities available for all students to take as a ‘wild’ module, available to students of any subject.

Staff from the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) will be there to introduce the different languages that are available to explore, talk about the different cultures, and how linguistics skills can increase your job prospects.

The beginners’ modules available include French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese, and a new Danish module is in development.

For those who already have some knowledge of their chosen language, there are other wild modules available.

The language coordinators are also happy to answer your questions and help you find the right module for you, they include: Dr Mikkel Bruun Zangenberg (for Danish), Dr Annie Trégouët (for French), Anna Maria Giuffrida (for Italian), Dr Michael Märlein (for German), Dr Gemma Martínez-Garrido (for Spanish), and Dr Antonio Da Silva (for Portuguese).

The event will feature an interactive quiz – bring your smartphone, tablet or laptop to join in to win a prize.

The event will be held at Grimond Lecture Theatre 3, at 1pm, for around an hour.
