The 6th Annual SWIPE (Student Work In Progress Exposition) conference will take place tomorrow, Thursday 20 March, starting at 9.30am.
Organised by students registered for the module CP641: SWIPE Undergraduate Conference, the conference allows students from across the Faculty of Humanities a chance to present papers to an audience of their peers, and gain the experience of participating in an academic conference. By giving students an opportunity of being introduced to, and partaking in, one of the prevalent forms of professional academic dialogue, the SWIPE conference is designed as a preparation for students’ further participation in exciting academic debates and invites them to consider the challenges and opportunities of further studies.
This year’s conference will feature presentations from students from a variety of Humanities disciplines – Comparative Literature, English Literature, French, Hispanic Studies and Religious Studies – and will cover topics as diverse as gangsters, copyright issues and epistemology.
The conference will be followed by a social event with refreshments. All conference participants and attendees are welcome to attend
