Peter Read broadcast on poet Apollinaire

France Culture, the French national public broadcasting station, has just broadcast an interview with Professor Peter Read, Professor of Modern French Literature and Visual Arts in the Department of French, about the poet Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918). The broadcast featured on the long-running radio show Une vie, une oeuvre.

Guillaume Apollinaire was an Italian born French poet, writer, novelist, and art critic, and considered one the forefathers of surrealism. He died after being wounded in World War I.

Professor Read was interviewed alongside Laurence Campa, biographer and editor of Apollinaire’s works. The interview is available online, and can be accessed on the station’s webpage here:
