As published by The Guardian yesterday, the University of Kent is now in the top 20 of UK universities, according to The Guardian University Guide 2014 – a rise of two places from last year.
The subjects taught by the School of European Culture and Languages also rank in the top 20 across UK universities, breaking down as follows:
- 8th for Classics
- 11th for Archaeology

- 19th for Religious Studies
The Guardian‘s league table ranks 119 higher education institutions in Britain using a complex algorithm that takes in data from a variety of sources, including the National Student Survey, and a set of metrics including staff/student ratios, expenditure, entry scores and career prospects, among others.
