Oscar explains the problem caused due to the wolf eradication in Yellowstone National Park in 1920&#8217;s and how the landscape changed from this eradication to the reintroduction in 1990&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-908 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL-1272x716.jpeg 1272w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/seak\/files\/2020\/09\/RSS-SPATIO-TEMPORAL.jpeg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alex\u2019s talk, titled \u201cInteraction point processes in spatially explicit capture-recapture models\u201d described his work on a spatial capture-recapture model incorporating interactions within and between individuals of two species. The model relies on the theory of interaction point processes. As inference for these processes cannot be performed using standard techniques due to the intractability of the likelihood, specific MCMC methods have to be used.
