Research Assistant placement opportunity

Would you like to make a real contribution to cutting-edge research whilst learning about rural and environmental issues and research methodologies?

The Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI), based at the University of Gloucestershire, is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant (Student Placement) to support the research output of the Institute. The CCRI is the largest specialist rural research centres in the UK and currently employs over 20 people who work on a diverse range of social science research and consultancy projects relating to rural environment and agricultural policy; rural community and services; rural economic development; food; recreation; and access issues. The successful applicant will be expected to become a fully functional team member and to make a genuine contribution to the output of the Institute during their placement.

Desirable qualities of placement student:

Good level of computer competency; particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Strong interest in environmental and rural issues
Experience of using social media for marketing/networking

Opportunity Duration:

10-12 months

Placements provide students with the opportunity to gain skills specific to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real-life work. The Careers and Employability Service will be running this session, providing insights into the benefits of doing a placement and tips on how to find one!
