{"id":8844,"date":"2023-01-03T16:55:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-03T16:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=8844"},"modified":"2023-01-03T17:01:00","modified_gmt":"2023-01-03T17:01:00","slug":"new-year-new-head-of-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2023\/01\/03\/new-year-new-head-of-school\/","title":{"rendered":"New Year, New Head of School!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/anthropology-conservation\/people\/476\/deter-chris\">Dr Chris Deter<\/a> has been appointed as Head of School.<\/p>\n<p>Biological Anthropologist Chris had been in the role on Interim Head of School since August, following Dr Tatanya Humle stepping down to help coordinate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arrctaskforce.org\/\">ARRC task force<\/a>within the <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iucngreatapes.org\/\">IUCN SSC Primate Specialist Group Section on Great Apes.<\/a> Chris takes on this permanent role\u00a0 from the 1<sup>st<\/sup> January and has agreed to remain in the role for a minimum of two years.<\/p>\n<p>Director of the Division of Human and Social Sciences <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/253\/wilkinson-david\">Professor David Wilkinson<\/a> announced the news just before the holidays &#8216;I am delighted for Chris and for the School, and I am sure that you will join me in offering her congratulations.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>We are really excited to have her dynamism and vision to lead us into the New Year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Chris Deter has been appointed as Head of School.
