These annual awards recognise individuals and groups who are advancing ecology in the scientific community and communicating its importance in society. <\/p>\n
The British Ecological Society<\/a> (BES) has announced the winners of its annual awards and prizes<\/a>, recognising thirteen distinguished ecologists and groups whose work has benefited the scientific community and society in general.<\/p>\n Zoe Davies,<\/a>\u00a0Professor of biodiversity conservation at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology<\/a> (DICE), has ben recognised for her\u00a0service to the society\u00a0<\/em>by the process ‘of integrating knowledge across traditional disciplinary boundaries to tackle conservation problems.’<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n On receiving the award, Davies said: \u201cIt was a complete surprise, but a real delight, to hear that I had won the BES Award. It means a huge amount to have your efforts recognised by your peers. BES is a fantastic community.
