{"id":6628,"date":"2021-07-26T10:49:01","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T10:49:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=6628"},"modified":"2021-08-03T16:12:43","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T16:12:43","slug":"professor-somerville-conferred-with-fellowship-of-royal-historical-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2021\/07\/26\/professor-somerville-conferred-with-fellowship-of-royal-historical-society\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Somerville conferred with Fellowship of Royal Historical Society."},"content":{"rendered":"<div>On the 27 July 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/royalhistsoc.org\/\">The Royal Historical Society<\/a> announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/journalism\/people\/2238\/somerville-keith\">Professor Keith Somerville<\/a> has been elected as a Fellow by the RHS council.<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8216;All those newly elected to the Fellowship and Membership bring a valuable range of expertise and experience that will help the Society to fulfil its objective of representing the diverse body of those engaged in historical scholarship.&#8217;<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\u2018The Royal Historical Society is an excellent forum for exchanging ideas and finding out about new research.\u2019 Professor Somerville told us\u00a0 \u2018My research on human-wildlife conflict in Africa has a strong historical content, charting conflict and coexistence between people and animals over millennia.
