The project builds on existing research and urban policy to show how these can improve migrant mobility and accessibility. This will have an impact on access and participation for new arrivals to urban society. MAPURBAN will use multinational research findings to produce new knowledge that will inform government strategies towards urban migration, re-framing immigrant integration as a multi-scalar (national, urban and local) process and as an inherent part of an inclusive and sustainable urban development.

The proposals to be granted funding will be published soon on the JPI Urban Europe website.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 857160.

Image: Space Syntax analysis of Stockholm’s spatial structure.
[Credit: Rokem, J. and Vaughan, L.
