She made an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qDpQv1rEv9U&amp;t=14s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">informal, short video in Arabic explaining what Anthropology was<\/a> to her friends in Egypt, her home country. Within 24 hours of being posted on Facebook, the video received hundreds of shares and 2.8k views on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Surprised by the success, Farah has decided to keep the momentum going and release a new episode of \u2018Anthropology in Arabic\u2019 each week: after uploading the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=S1Eafg4RHnk&amp;t=275s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second episode<\/a>, she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masrawy.com\/news\/news_various\/details\/2019\/11\/24\/1676317\/-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%88%D8%B4-%D9%85%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AC%D8%B9-%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8%D9%8A-%D9%81%D8%B1%D8%AD-%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%AF%D9%85-%D8%AD%D9%84%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%B9%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%86%D8%AB%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%A8%D9%88%D9%84%D9%88%D8%AC%D9%8A-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%AA%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%A8-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interviewed by an Egyptian newspaper<\/a> and, earlier this year, was featured in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/168220473208666\/posts\/2969438663086819\/?d=n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an issue of the online magazine Cairo Scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For her eighth episode, Farah explores how anthropology can help us understand the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 outbreak and how it can inform how societies will adapt to a post-Coronavirus world.<\/p>\n<p>Introducing the video, Farah says, &#8220;There is an embedded role of culture in the emergence, spread and containment of a virus during epidemics or pandemics. And this is why anthropologists have a very important role during such outbreaks.
