{"id":3411,"date":"2018-12-13T15:04:22","date_gmt":"2018-12-13T15:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=3411"},"modified":"2018-12-13T15:04:49","modified_gmt":"2018-12-13T15:04:49","slug":"dice-talk-conserving-brazils-mountain-top-frogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2018\/12\/13\/dice-talk-conserving-brazils-mountain-top-frogs\/","title":{"rendered":"DICE Talk: &#8216;Conserving Brazil&#8217;s mountain-top frogs&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The School of Anthropology and Conservation has created a new series named DICE Talks that will take place every month and will consist of a public lecture by DICE staff, students and alumni.<\/p>\n<p>This month\u2019s DICE Talk will occur on December 13th and be given by Dr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/anthropology-conservation\/people\/717\/menezes-barata-izabela\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Izabela Barata<\/a>, a DICE alumna who recently successfully defended her PhD thesis. It\u2019s entitled &#8216;Conserving Brazil&#8217;s mountain-top frogs.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Dr Barata will be talking about the findings of her PhD research on tropical mountain frogs and sharing fieldwork stories of her trips to Brazil. Izabela&#8217;s research investigates the ecological drivers of population dynamics and distributions, revealing patterns of amphibian declines and threats in tropical mountains.<\/p>\n<p>The talk will take place in Grimond Lecture Theatre 2 starting at 18:00 and will last for one hour.
