Brett Lewis (DICE \u2013 PhD Research Student) has recently had one of his images selected and printed in this year\u2019s British Wildlife Photography Awards book.<\/p>\n

The British Wildlife Photography Awards were established in 2009. The key aims of the Awards are to:
\n\u2022 Recognise the talents of photographers practicing in the UK, while at the same time highlight the great wealth and diversity of Britain\u2019s natural history.
\n\u2022 Celebrate British wildlife, in all its beauty and diversity, through a collection of inspirational photographs.
\n\u2022 Showcase the very best of our nature photography to a wide audience and engage all ages with evocative and powerful imagery.
\n\u2022 Encourage discovery, exploration, conservation and enjoyment of our natural heritage.
\n\u2022 Raise awareness about British biodiversity, species and habitats.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Winners and commended entrants have their work showcased in a national touring exhibition and in a stunning book published by AA Publishing.<\/p>\n

Brett submitted several entries but unfortunately, none of his images were selected, although a few images were shortlisted. Brett\u2019s image depicting a female Grass snake (Natrix natrix) was captured using a compact camera that he regularly uses during his fieldwork.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Brett is currently discussing the possibility of putting together a \u2018Wildlife Photography Workshop\u2019 for Staff & Students in order to gain a better understanding of photography and image making.
