{"id":2504,"date":"2018-02-13T16:38:07","date_gmt":"2018-02-13T16:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=2504"},"modified":"2018-02-13T16:38:07","modified_gmt":"2018-02-13T16:38:07","slug":"save-the-rhino-ceo-to-give-dice-lecture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2018\/02\/13\/save-the-rhino-ceo-to-give-dice-lecture\/","title":{"rendered":"Save the Rhino CEO to give DICE lecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Save the Rhino International, Cathy Dean, will be the guest speaker for the 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www-test.kent.ac.uk\/sac\/events\/lectures-seminars\/dice-lecture\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) lecture<\/a> on March 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Cathy Dean has been CEO since 2001 and her talk will discuss ongoing efforts\u00a0to tackle the rhino poaching crisis\u00a0and how this\u00a0can best be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>This will consider everything from using\u00a0the latest scientific research\u00a0to inform conservation policies to\u00a0taking advantage of cutting-edge technologies\u00a0that can be used to\u00a0fight back against poachers.<\/p>\n<p>She will also talk about how organisations like Save the Rhino can\u00a0best articulate the issues they face\u00a0to stakeholders, donors, journalists and members of the public\u00a0to ensure people are informed and engaged\u00a0with the work they do and the\u00a0plight of the rhino.<\/p>\n<p>The talk will take place on the\u00a0University\u2019s Canterbury campus on March 20th\u00a0from 18.30-19.30pm in the\u00a0Woolf Lecture Theatre.
