{"id":2189,"date":"2017-05-09T16:50:17","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T16:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=2189"},"modified":"2017-05-09T16:50:17","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T16:50:17","slug":"dr-zoe-davies-and-dr-alastair-key-celebrated-for-research-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2017\/05\/09\/dr-zoe-davies-and-dr-alastair-key-celebrated-for-research-excellence\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Zoe Davies and Dr Alastair Key celebrated for research excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent&#8217;s third annual Research Prizes took place on 21st April, with two awards handed out to academic members of the school in recognition of their accomplishments over the previous twelve months.<\/p>\n<p>The awards recognised\u00a0achievements such as publication in top-ranked journals, high citation rates, significant funding awards and impact through public engagement and policy development.<\/p>\n<p>The awards were presented by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation\u00a0Professor Philippe De Wilde\u00a0during a gala dinner held at the Darwin Conference Suite at the University\u2019s Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>Professor De Wilde commended the high quality of applications received and congratulated the winners on their success:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The nominations highlighted the diversity of research, and the impressive achievements for which Kent academics and students are responsible. As well as congratulating the winners I would like to thank all those who put their work forward for consideration.
