{"id":2160,"date":"2017-04-07T13:13:56","date_gmt":"2017-04-07T13:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/?p=2160"},"modified":"2017-04-07T13:13:56","modified_gmt":"2017-04-07T13:13:56","slug":"written-in-bone-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/sac-news-events\/2017\/04\/07\/written-in-bone-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Written in Bone Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, March 30<sup>th<\/sup> 2017, SAC\u2019S <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sac\/research\/areas\/biological_anthropology.html\">The Biological Anthropology Research Group<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sac\/research\/research-centres\/skeletal_biology.html\">Skeletal Biology Research Centre<\/a> hosted \u2018Written in Bone\u2019, a one-day symposium on Forensic Anthropology and Disaster Victim Identification (DVI). The event was free to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Talks by eight experts in the field of forensic anthropology and DVI were dynamic and resulted in lively Q &amp; As!<\/p>\n<p>The symposium opened with a talk by Dr Nicholas Marquez-Grant (Cranfield University) on \u2018The Role of the Forensic Anthropologist in the UK\u2019 followed by an interesting introduction to forensic facial reconstruction by Paloma Galzi (Galzi Forensics Ltd).
