The images were scanned using an atomic force microscope (AFM) as part of an on-going collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/bio\/profiles\/staff\/xue.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Wei-Feng Xue <\/a>from Kent\u2019s School of Biosciences.
