Master Your Future

A virtual welcome to the University of Kent

Explore our MSc Conservation programmes with Professor Jim Groombridge!

“Thinking about joining our MSc programme in Conservation Science at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent? You’re in for an exciting and rewarding journey, both academically and socially.

Our conservation postgraduate community at DICE is extremely vibrant, with individuals from many countries studying with us. Our staff at DICE look forward to supporting the development of your research interests, as well as your professional skills and knowledge.

You may already have seen that DICE very recently won a £8.3M ‘Expanding Excellence’ award from the UK Government to expand its staff and broaden its expertise, and a further £2.1M to host a Leverhulme Trust ‘Space for Nature’ Doctoral scholarship programme which will include opportunities for MSc and PhD studentships over the next 5-8 years. Join our MSc programme and become part of DICE’s growth trajectory!

I am the overall convenor for the DICE Conservation Science MSc programme, and I’d be delighted to speak with you on a one-to-one basis if you have any questions.

Professor Bob Smith is the Director of DICE and he also teaches on our Conservation MSc programme, as well as leading the DICE staff/student community. To gain a flavour of this, you can view on our DICE Facebook page our livestreamed Annual DICE Lecture which this year was given by Professor Juliet Vickery, British Trust for Ornithology, as well as other DICE talks and activities.

We also frequently showcase our students and alums on Instagram via #DICETakeOver.

If you have applied for a place on our MSc programme, do please get in touch with me (J.Groombridge@kent.ac.uk) or with our admissions team via Kent Vision if you have any questions.

We look forward to possibly welcoming you in September.”
